Hi,
I don't think there is anything wrong with being a Veggie person, its your own personal choice, go with it.
Me on the other hand, I couldn't do without meat, total carnivore here. I do like some of the more thought out Veggie dishes, don't like the option on menus, which usually only gives you a pasta dish or salad tho.

Just because food is vegetarian does not actually mean it is healthier. Vegetarian Sausages contain excessive ammounts of Salt and Polyunsaturated fats and indeed it is recommended to anyone suffering from High Cholesterol, that they avoid Vegetarian Sausages completely. All processed foods, whither they are Veggie or not are pumped full of chemicals and preservatives to extend the shelf life.
Fresh Fruit & Veg are far healthier and tastier and I do agree that there is a total lack of imagination and interest from the Culinary Industry in Vegetarian Menu choices. Eating Pasta, particularly Wholemeal Pasta every day will not be harmful to your Body, but it can get very monotonous.
Perhaps this is the ideal forum for People to put up their Vegetarian Recipes.
I myself am not vegetarian but i do love food and I have an interest in Cooking and would love to share ideas with others interested.

I'm not a vegetarian, but try to make healthy choices with food. I love the veggie burgers you get in Tescos or Dunnes. Depends how you cook them.
I sampled the Quorn food and found a lot of it tasteless. The only one I liked was the chicken but still found it a bit bland and artificial.
The Linda Mc Cartney sausages are delicious but as you said FFS are high in salt and fat.
My diet is usually, chicken, turkey and fish but i don't eat a lot of red meat.
The way our climate is going it looks like live stock will be in high demand due to bad crops and off season weather conditions.
Genetic enhancement is something that worries me too, who knows what steroids are injected into the meat that is delivered to our supermarkets.
On the cruelty thing it is wrong to make an animal suffer for your entertainment, (fox hunting etc..).
But soon we're going to have a food crisis on this planet due to over population and as resources run out things are going to get tough.

One of my favourite Vegetarian Dishes.
Ingredients
I teaspoon Tandoori Powder
1 Tablespoon Ground Nut Oil
6 Mushrooms
1 Onion
1 Carrott
3 Spring Onions
8/10 Mange Tout
1 Cup of Brown Rice
3 cups Water
Put the 1/2 nut oil & Tandoori in a saucepan and cook for 3 mins add the water and bring to the boil and simmer for five minutes. (This can be done beforehand and stored in a fridge for up to a week.)
Slice mushrooms and Onions and grate the Carrott and stirfry in the remaining oil for about 4 mins and then add the cup of rice and stirfry for another minute. A Wok is best but a heavy based saucepan will do.
Then add the Tandoori Stock bring to the boil cover and simmer for 6 minutes.
Dice the spring onions and Mange tout and add to the Wok.
Cover and cook for another 6 minutes.
Healthy and Tasty and only about 110 calories. This is one very generous Main Course or 2 normal portions.

cool that is some of kind soup or?or my english sucks? ahahhhhahah:p...No the rice will absorb the water while cooking and it will be of the same texture as something like Paella or Fried Rice. If the texture is a bit wet, remove the lid of the wok and allow juices to evaporate.
