Hi all,
Said I would post a few words to you all regards this website, and some recent comments made by some members.
As stated before, this website was setup to give to Limerick, what GayCork.com has become for Cork.
GayCork.com has been a powerful resource for the gay community in Cork. It has enabled people to find out more about the gay resources in Cork, it has helped them to come out, make friends, meet partners and so on.
And so my hope is that the same can happen for the gay community in Limerick through this website :)
From my years of experience of being an admin of gay forums, I have noticed that some people can misjudge what others say and take personal insult over it, when often what was said was in jest or banter.
I have seen this many times on gaycork.com, and just recently on gayinlimerick.com.
I respect fully the way people feel when they react in situations like above, but I also ask that they email/pm me, so that we can discuss it and explore a way to move forward.
As for the clique statement, I have heard this one time and time again, but I feel this is often a perception rather than reality, and again I ask people who have such issues to again email/pm me, so that we can discuss it and explore a way to more forward.
As an admin, I always take the neutral path, and the fact that I'm not from or resident in Limerick or indeed socialise in Limerick goes on to enforce that.
To sum up, let us all try to make this website a place for all the LGBT folk in Limerick, where we all can come together and enrich the Limerick LGBT community. :)
